impact:

[ noun: im-pakt; verb: im-pakt ]

The effect or influence of a person(s), thing, or action on another, partnering with a community or organization.

The Liz Tannebaum Foundation is committed to partnering with different local resources to provide community impact for all ages.

I had the privilege of attending the Hack for Accessibility event at Google last weekend, and it was truly inspiring to witness individuals of all ages and backgrounds come together to develop innovative technologies aimed at enhancing accessibility for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Blind, and Neurodivergent communities, including those with Autism.

A heartfelt thank you to Deaf Kids Code, Code Your Dreams, and Google for organizing and hosting such an impactful event. Your commitment to inclusion, innovation, and empowerment is making a real difference in the lives of so many.

I was honored to serve as the keynote speaker at the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Teen Opportunity Fair, hosted by the Chicago Park District. It was a privilege to share my personal journey with these incredible young individuals and to remind them that they are not alone - there are others who understand their experiences and walk a similar path.

Thank you Chicago Park District ~ Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs for having me.

One of my dreams was always to give back to deaf children.  I was allowed to visit a Pre-K classroom at the California School for the Deaf at Riverside.  When I had the opportunity to visit with the children, my heart instantly melted, seeing their beautiful faces as they expressed themselves in American Sign Language guided by their excellent Deaf classroom teachers.

As part of my initiative, I donated some classroom supplies to the school to support their learning journey so they will continue to explore and grow with new tools made possible. I visited the classroom a few weeks after the donation was made; I was greeted with such warmth from the children, more than I could ever imagine. They surprised me with a beautiful piece of artwork created by the class. It has all of their handprints on a framed picture in appreciation.  This brings me joy, and they are genuinely my sunshine!

A little note from them:

We want to thank Liz from the bottom of our hearts for bringing magic into our classrooms!
